My New Journey - Veeam

I have just completed my 90 days at Veeam as a TAM.  After being on the customer side for all of my 20+ years in IT, I finally made the switch to the other side.  For 10 years I was a customer of Veeam using it primarily for replication to solve a DR issue we had, then started diving into ALL of the other awesomeness that it contained.

Over the past 3 years, I had the privilege to go to and present at 25+ VMUG UserCons, VMware Explore x2, and VeeamON in '23 and discuss my BCDR journey, issues, challenges, and successes.  It was a fantastic 3 years getting to meet new people, catch up with friends, engage with the community, and discuss tech (specifically BCDR).  After Explore in '25 I applied for a role at Veeam and was over the moon when I received the offer.  For years I got to use the product to help my company prepare for the worst and felt comfortable and secure with Veeam.  In '23 I decided to start sharing my experiences with the community and never imagined it would turn into such a ride!  I can't thank VMUG enough for the opportunity and platform to present and share as a lot of this would not have been possible without them, a fantastic community group!  I'm looking forward to what '26 brings with VMUG Connects as I am already slated to go to Minneapolis in April and talk about by BCDR journey.

In my short time at Veeam it really has been an abundance of information.  Diving into ALL functions of the product and getting to be here for the release of v13 and seeing all of the new, great features it's providing our customers.  Introducing an appliance, Linux support, and HA are three of the highlights that immediately grabs your attention.  There is also the addition of Coveware and Securiti further increasing the value and portfolio of Veeam.  Getting to dive into labs and work directly with customers has been great and sharing knowledge and helping them best position their company for success is fun and rewarding.

I can't wait to see what '26 brings for Veeam, our customers, VMUG, and myself.  I hope to have a lot of community engagement this year and continue to share my journey and experience with others.  I will be back in a couple weeks to chat more about what's new and exciting at Veeam and v13.  Thank You!

Eric Kubla
